El Pinell de Brai

Dominating the entrance of the town is the magnificent cellar of Pinell known as "The Cathedral of Wine" designed and built by Cesar Martinell, who was a true disciple of Gaudi. Wine has been made at Pinell for generations and continues into the 21st century with the Don Ferranti family.

Terra Alta is the most southern wine producing region of Catalonia. The Ferranti vineyards lie in a spectacular coloured mosaic of olive and almond trees. The dry climate, low rainfall and high levels of sunshine favour the production of high quality aromatic white wines and intensely deep coloured red wines.

Don Ferranti vineyards consist of the grape varieties, Granache Negre (Red), Shiraz, Carignan, Tempranillo, Granache Blanc (White) and Macbeo. Each independent grape variety giving its own flavour, aroma and characteristic to the Don Ferranti wines.
